Meeting of DLP C-FREE teams discussing the project downsize

The C-FREE network, led by DLP, currently includes 12 sites across Thailand, run in partnership with civil society organizations (CSOs) and government hospitals and health centers. The funding cuts from the Global Fund for the period 2027-29 imply that we will be able to maintain only 5 sites, starting from January 2027. 7 of the current sites need to be closed by the end of December 2026. Furthermore, funding from the GF for C-FREE will continue only for part of 2027.
In August 2026, all C-FREE teams met to discuss these major upcoming changes to plan for smooth completion of research activities in the 7 sites that will close by December. DLP, however, continues to work hard to secure other funding support to maintain C-FREE network in Thailand and beyond after 2027.
